Food for thought - there’s a lot of talk these days about timber as the solution of the Gordian knot when it comes to carbon reductions and the building industry. But are there even enough trees around for that? Read some of theleading thoughts and brand-new insights on the topic here – first publishing of great new article series started up by the Planetary Responsibility Foundation #PRF #CLT #alfadevelopment #timberengineering

Check out this amazing technique for combating desertification in arid regions! By digging semi-circular pits resembling the crescent of the moon, water can be held and plant growth can be promoted. This beautiful solution offers a sustainable way to combat desertification. Have you heard of this technique before?

The actual decomposition time of stump grindings has no connection with the grinding but with the size of chips and the factors of the environment contributing to the decomposition.1) Size of wood chips i.e. Larger chips or Smaller chips and sawdust.2) The Environmental Factors include Moisture, Temperature, Soil conditions, and Nitrogen availability. Thus, depending on these conditions, stump grinding debris can decompose within a few months to many years....Read more - https://lnkd.in/dhGmZy9b...https://qr.ae/pKEsvY...#Quora #StumpGrindingQuestions #StumpGrinding #Jacksonville #Florida #SmallBusiness #LocalBusiness #StumpWork #StumpGrindingFAQ

Today, 26th July, is the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove EcosystemsIn recognition of today, a new publication The State of the World’s Mangroves has been launched (link below). Please pass it on to other colleagues. The IUCN Red List of Ecosystems study of threats to mangroves is at pages 25-30. The coastline of Pakistan is divided into the Arabian (Persian) Gulf province (=Balochistan) and the Western India and Pakistan province (Karachi and Indus Delta). Both coastlines are ranked as vulnerable (VU) over the next 50 years (2020-70), mainly because of the predicted future impact of climate change, especially sea-level rise. However, because global mangrove cover data for 2020 had to be used for consistency between the world’s 36 provinces, it does not account for mangrove rehabilitation in Pakistan over the past 5-6 years.#MCI

📚🌍 New #publication alert! High-temporal #resolution snapshots offer fascinating insights into the seasonal hydrological behavior of the Weierbach catchment❗ 🌦️🍂 This fast motion view, covering winter, spring, summer, and autumn sequences at 15-min resolution, reveals the presence of many hydrological processes participating to #streamflow generation. What is often derived from #models and in-depth knowledge of #hydrologic systems can now be visually observed here: https://lnkd.in/eRK36FFw🌿Diurnal water level fluctuations due to vegetative growth in summer months, ❄ the occurrence of precipitation events entering the ground and freezing during the winter nights impacting the soil in the near-stream domain, 🌧️ and the mechanism of #flood generation in the catchment, resulting from prolonged precipitation events and exceeding soil water storage capacity at the hillslope, are just a few of the mechanisms studied in the past 20 years in the Weierbach catchment that are now easily and directly visible in this work.Curious? 🤔 Read more here 📖 : https://lnkd.in/ejYPB6tr🌟 #EnvironmentalResearch #Hydrology #EcoHydrology #ClimateChange
