In a story that spans billions of years, a buoy and a satellite meet online long after humanity's extinction. As they learn what life was like on Earth, they discover themselves and what it means to be alive and in love. In this groundbreaking first feature from directors Sam and Andy Zuchero, Love Me explores contemporary topics surrounding technology and identity, though at its heart is a simple, emotionally resonant tale of transformation. Thrillingly utilizing filmmaking techniques from live-action, practical animatronics, classic animation and game engines, and anchored in enthralling performances by Stewart and Yeun, Love Me culminates in the longest-spanning love story ever told.

Critics Consensus

Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun are appealing leads, but Love Me's admirable narrative reach exceeds its grasp.

Love Me (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Kristy Puchko Mashable An oddly hopeful movie set in on a dead Earth, Love Me is about how even a robot might wade through the mess of societal expectations, internet white noise, and chronic self-doubt, and be able to achieve the truly radical — self-acceptance. Feb 12, 2025 Full Review Love Me (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I rather enjoyed this. I had to let it overwhelm me because it's a bit of an interesting conception: thoughtful, funny, creative in terms of concept and execution. Feb 11, 2025 Full Review Love Me (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle Still, every so often “Love Me” finds a certain feeling and tone, where we can feel the vastness of human longing and measure it against the yet greater vastness and consuming blackness of space. Rated: 2/4 Feb 4, 2025 Full Review Love Me (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Tim Stevens The Spool The result is an exercise in creating humanity that never manages to find its own. Feb 14, 2025 Full Review Love Me (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Lael Loewenstein FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) There might be some interesting ideas behind it, but it was weird and didn't work for me. Feb 11, 2025 Full Review Love Me (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) It doesn't logically all work, but Stewart and Yeun land the emotional beats and the humor of it made me laugh a lot Feb 8, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

sivan messy screenplay but cinematic experience is good. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Jackson H A buoy and a satellite create a virtual life for themselves and live at least a billion years…not something I ever thought I would be seeing on the big screen, but here we are! This is a very unique film and rather ambitious in its message and structure. I am not quite sure it worked completely and might have been better if not a full length movie. I do get the much larger message this one was trying to convey, but I think it missed the mark of most of it. Certainly watchable and very unique. I think it is a one time viewing experience though. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/07/25 Full Review LacosteTK N I Love It's Originality And Idea But That's It, The Writing Could've Been Executed Much Better In The Hands Of a Capable Writer, Not Bad But I Won't Tell My Friends To Watch This. I Wish I Loved It, The Actors Are Likable And The Hybrid Animation And Live Action Is Great. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/05/25 Full Review Mellissa H Waste of $9.99 Disappointed.I definitely don't recommend. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/28/25 Full Review Marcus A one is a satellite, one is a buoy. They fall in love, this is not a joke or metaphor. This is a pretentious film with forced performances. It kinda shows that these two actors are actually not that great as people say, yes they have done some enjoyable things, Walking Dead being Stevens best and maybe Twilight being Kristens best, both being decades ago. This film plot is filled with nonsense, over written and under acted. The concept is like something you come up with when you are super stoned late at night and then the next day you realize wow I was high, and go about your day. Instead they made a movie out of it and this is it. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Chris M I really enjoyed this one. Such a unique and fascinating idea that makes for a funny and heartwarming film. It’s a rare example of a story using A.I. to actually show the beauty of Humanity and I appreciate that. A big reason why this movie works so well is the great chemistry between Steven Yuen and Kristen Stewart. Sidenote: F*k anyone who still thinks Kristen Stewart isn’t a good actress. She is fantastic in this and really shows her range. I also found it very impressive that the computer animation was able to capture all of Stewart’s unique facial movements and expressions. I think this would be a great one for couples but could also make some look more closely at their own relationships and see what’s lacking. It’s a really beautiful story about the work you need to put into love, the importance of knowing yourself and how much those things go hand in hand. Definitely worth a watch.
